Strong EncryptionIn order to use the full key length of 448 bit (called "unlimited" by Sun) allowed by the Blowfish encryption, Keywarden also needs the Java Cryptography Extension (JCE) Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy Files. The reason for this is that, because of US export restrictions, the Java standard installation only allows a weak encryption with at most 56 bit (misleadingly called "strong" by Sun). The version of the JCE files must match the Java version. |
